The founder’s story: where purpose met momentum
Story Of Me was born from a simple belief, that business can be both deeply human and powerfully focused.
I’m Thelma Dhlovu, strategist, storyteller, and founder of Story Of Me. My path here has been shaped by curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for what drives people and brands to grow. After earning a First-Class BA in Marketing Management, I began my career in fashion marketing, where I learned that the most successful brands aren’t the loudest, they’re the clearest. Every campaign, message, and experience tells a story, and when that story is rooted in truth, it connects effortlessly. That understanding carried me across industries and continents. From leading visual storytelling at Hugo Boss in New York, to working with The Cheeky Panda, a sustainability pioneer turning bamboo into a global movement, I saw how clarity could translate vision into impact. At Nuapay, I helped communicate a more inclusive future for finance through open banking. With Mandarin Blueprint, I supported a mission to make language learning more human and accessible. And across creative businesses, educators, and innovators, I’ve seen the same pattern: clarity is the thread that connects purpose to performance.
