I’m Thelma Dhlovu, founder of Story Of Me. By title I’m a strategist, but really I’m fascinated by why some organisations feel alive while others sound like they’ve been written by a committee. My career began in e-commerce after graduating with a First-Class BA in Marketing Management. Working with brands like Hugo Boss and Suitsupply taught me an early lesson. Being everywhere isn’t a strategy. Being clear about who you are is. Every email, image and line of copy either reflects what an organisation truly is, or slowly muddies it. That question, what makes an organisation feel true, has taken me across industries and continents. In New York, I led visual storytelling for Hugo Boss and saw how a single image could say more than a forty-page strategy deck. At The Cheeky Panda, I watched a bamboo idea grow into a sustainability movement. At Nuapay, I helped make open banking feel human rather than abstract fintech. With Mandarin Blueprint, I worked on a mission to make learning a language feel less like homework and more like discovery. Different sectors. Different audiences. The same pattern every time. When an organisation becomes clear on what truly defines it, things start to move. People understand it. Teams align around it. Strategy becomes easier to act on. Story Of Me exists because too many strong organisations are buried under vague words and clever-sounding fluff. The work I do is simple. Step back and clarify what defines the organisation. Give that clarity structure and language. Help teams align around it as they grow.
